.We need every available tool to mentor our children. In this virtual world, some of our children are failing; not because its virtual, but because they don't have the resources for additional help, that a school setting would offer. AFTA-CDC would love to partner with an organization to bring an independent mentorship program to our community, one that can be utilized in mentoring children of all grades in a mask required and socially distanced environment. As a Substitute Teacher in Pickens County, I have seen first hand some of the struggles the children face, and this was in the classroom, I can only imagine what they face virtually. The other issue is internet access for the students that live in a rural environment, its critical that they have access, or atleast a place close that they can gain access for a period of time. If you are interested in partnering with us or we partner with you, please let us know, by emailing us at: aftacdc@gmail.com
